ALMANACH INT.

Rud. Ibach Sohn -> Wolfgang Rauch, opera singer

A long-standing international career in the German, Italian and French fields, as well as musical and theatrical work with important conductors and directors, gave me deep insights into vocal technique, musical interpretation and theatrical work.

The instrument has the typical design of a grand piano, but instead of black shellac or polyester lacquer, the case is crafted entirely from Makassar and ebony with inlays. The sides are decorated with a total of 17 tall, rectangular panels, four of which are adorned with bronze sculptures. Above the keyboard are six further rectangular panels, each framed with fillets of diamond-patterned parquet.

The lid features an elaborately designed border, also in the form of diamonds, in lemonwood and ebony parquetry; the same applies to the lyre. The corners of this lid border are each inlaid with mother-of-pearl. The inside of the lid has a veneer that tapers conically to a triangle. The keyboard is covered with ivory, typical of the period, and the music stand has multiple openwork openings.

Unlike the usual design of grand pianos, the entire instrument has no curves, but is constructed entirely in a geometric, angular form. The legs are multi-profiled and shaped into a slightly tapered wedge. To the right and left of the keyboard are two panels each filled with relief bronze sculptures depicting a nude youth playing a guitar, flute, violin, or cello, respectively. The keyboard cover is a two-part hinged design.
